Croatian Coopartive for Ethical Financing secures more than a million kuna for social enterprises

In 2018, the Cooperative for Ethical Financing in Croatia provided more than a million kuna in micro-financing for its social entrepreneur members, as well as those that just became members. This is the result of long-standing partnership building and quality cooperation with members of the Federation of European Ethical and Alternative Banks, of which the Cooperative for Ethical Financing is a member.

“The social entrepreneurship sector in Croatia is developing only on the margins, with the majority of social entrepreneurship activities and development in the country being undertaken by civil society nonprofit organizations, that frequently encounter problems in financing their projects, but also everyday business,” said Silvana Radelić, Head of Project Financing in the largest Croatian co-operative

The Cooperative for Ethical Financing (Zadruga za etično financiranje – ZEF) has been strategically focused on strengthening the social economy and social entrepreneurship sectors in Croatia from the very beginning of its founding, and are extremely pleased that in cooperation with partners from the Federation of European Ethical and Alternative Banks, and with the Polish TISE Fund, they could secure funds for their cooperative members with very favourable conditions compared to other countries in which they operative.
